The Laterndl (short for “Laterndluhr”) is a traditional Vienna Regulator style of the Biedermeier period named for it’s similarity to a lantern. Antique Laterndluhrs from the early Nineteenth Century are among the most sought after by collectors and connoisseurs.
Clearly a timeless classic, this clock has a cable-wound precision movement with automatic beat adjustment and maintaining power. This means that the clock will continue to run, even while you are cranking the weight cable once per month. The “Laterndl” also strikes the hour and once on the half-hour ringing a large coil gong. The strike train includes an automatic night shut off for your convenience.
This timepiece is one of the only models available with both a month-long power reserve AND hour and half-hour striking complication. Most long-runners are time-only clocks.
The enamel “floating dial” and elegant case bespeak the epitome of style and taste. This clock is one of our most popular models and is a favorite among our employees.

Kieninger Clocks
Looking for a luxury and elegant timepiece? Kieninger Clocks offer mechanical wall and mantel clocks that define both luxury and elegance. Founded in 1912, by Joseph Kieninger, Kieninger Clocks have withstood changing times by producing a superior product. Originating in Monchweiler Germany, Kieninger clocks are still produced in Germany.
The best craftsmen design and produce each piece. Only the finest materials are used to produce these mechanical wall and mantel clocks. Each Kieninger wall and mantel clock is a technological wonder.
Although the company was sold to Howard Miller, located in the United States, Kieninger still produces their own solid brass movements. No other clock manufacturer can say the same. Each movement is made of solid-brass and metal. You’ll find no plastic parts. In the beginning, Joseph Kieninger inspected every movement before it left the factory. The quality is unsurpassed and has been the biggest influence to the survival of the company in times where others failed.
